Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin made his 100th Test appearance for the country memorable with a stellar performance against England at the HPCA stadium in Dharamshala. The 37-year-old not only impressed fans with his bowling but also made history by breaking a 137-year-old record with his fifer in the second innings.

Ashwin played a crucial role in troubling the English batting lineup in both innings of the Dharamshala Test, claiming 4 wickets in the first innings and achieving a fifer in the second. His fifth wicket in the second innings, dismissing Ben Foakes, led him to complete his 36th 5-wicket haul.

With his exceptional performance, Ashwin surpassed Indian cricket legends Anil Kumble and Kapil Dev and equaled Sri Lankan spinner Muttiah Muralidharan for the best figures in a 100th Test match. He ended the match with figures of 9/118, showcasing his dominance with the ball.
